Built in 1896 as the Hotel Cambria and designed by George Croydon. The Hotel did not prosper and was bought to be used as a college for the Calvinistic Methodists by David Davies in 1906. During the First World War the building was used as a Red Cross hospital.

The college was renamed the United Theological College in 1922 when it joined up with Bala College. The Theological College closed in May 2003.

Since the closure of the college it has been transformed into the thriving business centre it is today. In 2009 the Cambria underwent modernisation with the installation of a new lift and automatic front doors. There was also a total revamp of the reception area, therapy rooms and offices. Although the centre has made these changes to create a modern, up-to-date and current working environment, many of the original features of the grade II listed building have been kept. The Cambria now comprises of 23 modern offices and 3 meeting rooms.
